I feel like I've done a lot of 'flat' pieces recently, and so I wanted to do something more 3d. I could have made it a whole lot easier on myself by not also attempting the Semi-Regular Tesselation Challenge at the same time -- but since when did I ever go about things the easy way? ha. ha ha. >.>

getting the 'beads' to work was a bit of a trick. I spent a long time chasing my tail on it -- first I'd find a formula that might work, then I'd scour for a colouring algorithm to go with it, only to decide a different formula might work better, which would then take another search for a new colouring algorithm... and then in the end, a pixel formula is what worked the best. pfff. if there was an award for reinventing the wheel, man...
